Product Description

CGW A3 w/Calcium Stearate Coating T29 Flap Discs

The CGW 4.5” x 7/8” T29 A3 Flap Disc for Aluminum keeps work material cool and prevents loading making it the ideal option for softer material jobs. This flapper disc is constructed on heat treated polyester backing and features Blue-Fired premium aluminum oxide grains with a calcium stearate coating. This unique combination of A3 Material with calcium stearate coating can become liquefied under the heat of friction, lowering the materials temperature and preventing loading. In addition the T29 flap disc for aluminum oxide is constructed with the flaps at an 8 degree angle providing greater surface contact and aggressive use.

The Type 29 Flap Disc is conical in shape which allows for more aggressive stock removal.

Available Grits: 36, 60

A must have for anyone working with aluminum

Posted by Colin Wolf on Mar 13th 2017

I had a project welding a new A/N bung onto a used, dirty, powder coated fuel cell and wanted something to prep it before I welded it. Having never used anything designed for aluminum, using whatever abrasives I had, the results were night and day. I was left with a smooth, clean finish and no problems while welding afterwards. This product is a must have for anyone attempting to weld dirty, used aluminum.
