1-1/2" x 1/2" Aluminum Oxide Abrasive Cross Pads are flexible “X”-shaped aluminum oxide abrasives that attach to a mandrel (using the 8-32 eyelet attachment on the pad) and then to a die grinder or drill. These aluminum oxide cross pads are particularly effective at grinding, blending or polishing inside of tubes and cylinders. Additionally, the cross pad can blend in channels, fillets and corners as well as on many other special applications. Each cross pad begins with x-weight cloth backing for strength during heavy grinding. The cloth backing is then coated with premium aluminum oxide grains and resin bonded forming a closed coat of abrasives to withstand heat and high pressure. The aluminum oxide coated cloth is then folded and cut into a plus sign shape. This shape allows the abrasive cross to bend when pushed into tight spaces such as tubes, irregular channels, or corners. These cross pads are extremely versatile and can be used on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, wood, fiberglass or plastic. These cross pads are available in 60, 80 and 120 grit.
