Product Description

4.5" Semi-Flex Disc (Silicon Carbide) with 7/8" Arbor Hole

SOLD IN PACKS OF 1 (Individually)

The 4-1/2” x 7/8” Silicon Carbide Semi-Flexible Disc features silicon carbide grain adhered to a vulcanized fiber backing. Silicon Carbide abrasive grains are extremely sharp with an impressive hardness, leading to faster cuts and finer scratch patterns. This is the perfect disc for cool, aggressive grinding on a variety of surfaces including metal, enamel, fiberglass, porcelain, brick, concrete and marble. The spiral design of the disc allows for this cooler, more aggressive grinding and also helps to prevent loading. Common uses for this disc are leveling and reduction of surface imperfections as well as the removal of coatings and adhesives, such as glue, from various surfaces. SiC disc for mill scale removal

Posted by Michael Bess on Aug 27th 2020

The 40 grit SiC semi rigid disc made mill scale removal from 3/8 x 5 stock an easy job. 40 may even be too aggressive.

    4.5" silicon carbide disk

these disks worked great. It cut through the mill scale faster and smoother than regular flap disks. But this is more like a hard disk, it just has grooves in it.

    Abrasive wheel

Posted by Larry The plumber on May 9th 2020

Used one wheel to grind 4 - 5 foot long concrete steps and out edges of patio, the carpet glue was stubborn, no chemicals worked, used a buffer with diamond coating removal pad for patio, these amazing wheels finish all the areas the buffer couldn’t be used on.. I thought I use them all, one coarse abrasive wheel did the entire job. I was skeptical but now I’m sold

    Mill scale removal

Picks off mill scale very easily, from hot rolled steel. No more grinder wheel, silicon carbide is the right tool.
