The product is holding up well at this point. I have used the belts several times and the abrasives are holding up well. In the past with lower priced belts the abrasives begin to break down after little usage. My hopes are to find a belt that holds up over time and pays for the difference in price.
I had always wanted to make a knife, but in January of ‘22 laying in a Hospital nearly dead I realized that at 59 years old time was getting short! Made my first knife from a plate of Titanium with carbon fiber scales, on oxygen. And believe me when I say I learned really quick that there was a lot I didn’t know! Here we cue Empire Abrasives, ceramic belts changed the game! Incredible what a difference these make! And when I decided S125V was up, well, couldn’t even cut out my design with new cobalt blades! My belts ate it up, knife turned out awesome! Thank You for allowing me to do things otherwise impossible! My 20th blade now, is a .41” thick Surgical Grade Titanium monster, 18” long with a 13” samurai style blade… I’m not afraid, my ceramic belts are totally up to the task!
A high quality axe, such as the Rixford (R51) double-bit 3.5-pounder I just got, is too hard for any file. Using a bench grinder creates too much heat, which can quickly ruin the temper in the bit. That leaves either an old-fashioned treadle-driven grinding wheel or a bench-sander to remove material from the cheeks, after the bit profile has been restored (1/4” drop from high point to heal and toe). Using 40, 60, and finally 120-grit ceramic belts saves me hours of labor before honing and polishing. These things are not cheep, but they last way longer than any other belt I’ve used before. The axe warms up a bit, but it’s easy to control the temp with a bucket of water. The final pass with 120 allows me to point out the beard to a final 30 degree angle w/o burning the edge, and the score-marks are shallow enough to allow quick removal with an axe stone.
Seems like a good product. I use to flatten slate coasters for detailed engraving. I go from 40-80-120 and then finish up with diamond pads.

I don't have many miles on the new one so far, but from my experience with the last belt I'm sure it'll do the job a long time.
I recently started using a 4x36" belt sander to work my blades after finishing bevels on my 2x72 grinder, and just before hand sanding. Not only does it help flatten areas that should be flat, but it reduces hand sanding. These belts are exactly what I needed.
I am very impressed on the durability of your product. I generally machine/plane exhaust manifolds on my sanding table. So much time saved over the competition. Thank you for the quick delivery as well. Overall, I give you 5 stars!
