5” x .045” x 7/8” Depressed Center Cut-Off Wheels by Black Hawk Abrasives are high strength, high cut rate, bonded abrasive discs used for slicing metals including steel, sheet metal, cast iron and stainless steel. Each T27 5 inch cutting disc is designed with double reinforced, high tensile strength fiberglass mesh webs which protect from shattering and provide higher lateral resilience. Additionally, these 5” x 3/64” x 7/8” feature heat treated premium aluminum oxide grains for quick cutting and durability. Made for a 5 inch angle grinder, these 5” cut off discs are vibration resistant and boast a smooth slice whether cutting iron pipes, thin rebar, or structural steel.
For years I've been using abrasives from a certain place that we all know of but I won't mention. Normal grind job using these abrasives was maybe 10 minutes. Using Empire Abrasives the job is 2 minutes. I'm not exagerating. Be careful with these discs. They take of metal in a hurry. I suppose they will do the same with human tissue.
Purchase these wheels before an upcoming welding project. Had used other wheels before with varying results. These wheels seem to cut fast there’s a very thin kerf , the wheel does consume it self but all in all well worth the cost and was very easy to control. I found myself using them for doing small cut offs rather than go to the bandsaw. Would definitely buy these again.
I bought four 5" cut-off wheels from Home Depot for $2.57 each. It was getting too expensive to buy there. I bought other products from Empire Abrasives in the past. Keeping in mind, so I ordered a 25 pack which comes to $1.20 per cutting wheel rather than $2.57 at Home Depot, savings of 53%! Well worth it!
