Product Description

8" x 3/4" x .050" - 10/14 TPI Master Cobalt Hybrid Reciprocating Saw Blades (5 Pack)

The M.K. Morse Company's Master Cobalt Hybrid Reciprocating Saw Blade for All Purpose Cutting is the best choice for applications that need a blade that cuts through a variety of materials and substrates ranging from wood and plastic to ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Each all-purpose Master Cobalt Hybrid sawzall blade features state of the art bi-metal construction which combines a high-carbon steel shaft that with a electron-beam welded cobalt-steel alloy cutting edge. The carbon steel body provides break-resistance and flexibility while the cobalt alloy teeth provide high speed cutting, heat resistance, increased hardness and maximum durability. On average, a bi-metal recip blade will outlast a standard carbon steel blade 10 times but, with the addition of the Master Cobalt’s cobalt steel cutting edge these reciprocating blades will even outlast standard bi-metal blades, making them some of the longest lasting blades available anywhere. Master Cobalt Metal/Wood reciprocating saw blades also feature a tapered body with a pointed nose, allowing for plunge cutting if required. These All purpose blades are capable of cutting all woods, nail embedded woods, composition material, PVC pipe, galvanized pipe, plastic, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including stainless steel and cast iron. Master Cobalt Reciprocating Saw Blades have conventional shanks making them universally compatible with standard reciprocating saws and sawzall’s of any brand.

The 8” x ¾” x .050” Master Cobalt Hybrid Recip Saw Blade with 10/14 TPI is 8 inches long, ¾” wide, .05” thick and has variable Teeth Per Inch of 10 and 14. This combination of specifications provides the following advantages:8" blades are are more flexible then shorter blades of similar dimensions and can dissipate heat more easily due to the increased surface area. This flexibility also allows you to bend the blade when a flush cut is required. 8 inch long recip blades are the perfect size for cutting work pieces that are 5 to 6 inches wide (Your blade length should be 2" - 3" longer than the width of the material you are cutting to prevent slipping. Additionally, your blade should not be so much longer than your material or else wobbling and vibration can occur.) . The 3/4” width allows the blade to resist bending and vibration to further enhance its ability to create straighter, faster cuts. The .050” thickness is considered “HEAVY DUTY” and thus it is perfect for aggressive cutting applications that require heavier feed pressure such as cutting through thicker dense metals. Saw saw blades with .050” thickness are more rigid, durable, and resist vibrating or bending. The .050” thickness leaves a larger kerf width so it is recommended on jobs that do not require high precision. Finally, 10/14 TPI is the main component that sets these “Hybrid” blades apart from “Metal” or "Wood" cutting blades. 10/14 variable pitch multi-purpose blades can handle a wider range of multi-purpose cuts. The teeth distance switch between 10 per inch and 14 per inch allowing wood and metal to be cut at good speeds and preventing you from needing to change your blade throughout a job.
