Job Description

This is a newly created Business Development Representative (BDR) position that will be a key contributor to our B2B Sales team. This is a fully remote position. Traditionally an ecommerce company, Empire Abrasives is now expanding to direct B2B sales and relationship building. The BDR will be focused on generating revenue from new customers as well as servicing the businesses that continue to buy from us.

Responsibilities Include

  • New B2B customer acquisition
  • Sources: Industry connections, your own research uncovering opportunities, high value target lists
  • Owning all key steps of the sales process: Prospecting - Qualified leads - Introduction/disco call - onboarding - active customer
  • Develop product knowledge and differentiators of our offerings vs. the competition
  • Follow the Empire Abrasives Sales approach and operating procedures
  • Understand needs and then promote products to new and existing customers via all viable channels (cold calling, email, text, etc.)
  • Produce Quotes, Sales Orders, customer requested assets, etc.
  • Effectively handle objections and other needs to close deals
  • Manage CRM Sales Dashboard activities and tasks based on priorities for your assigned territory
  • Maintain follow-up schedules for customer reorders
  • Update all prospect, customer, and activity information in the company CRM
  • Manage leads and deals at a pace to meet or exceed your assigned Quota
  • Participate in weekly, monthly, quarterly sales meetings with updated revenue reports for your territory
  • Maintain relationships with our various internal teams to provide the best service for our customers. Assist our customer service team when necessary

General Qualifications - who you are

  • 4+ years of inside and/or outside sales experience
  • Preferred - 2-4 years in industrial sales
  • A fast learner and open to training and coaching
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Not afraid to make 20+ calls a day! The phone is your friend
  • Excellent computer skills (i.e. able to grasp new software easily, etc)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of Word, Excel and Google Apps
  • Ability to self-manage and problem solve

Priority will be given to candidates with any of the following skills (Not Required)

  • Strong Knowledge of welding, tools, hardware, and woodworking
  • Experience selling Abrasives or selling in related industries
  • Utilization of mainstream CRM or Quoting tools

Compensation

  • Hybrid Pay - $45,000 base rate plus commission incentives (Total OTE $75,000 - $110,000)
