4.5 Inch Backing Disc

Listed as rubber, but is a black plastic. Tried it on grinder not equipped with any backing disc and it worked great, stiffer disc made the abrasive disc cut better (than other grinder with thick rubber disc). Had to drill the 2 small holes, larger on the retainer nut to work with wrench that came with the grinder.

Better than rubber which will knock your teeth out if it kicks back on you.

Works great. Excellent quality. Bends and deflects when I put pressure into it. Nice and flat under normal pressure.

Backing pad

I have had one of these for about a year and use it quite often. They work well for dressing welds off, removing tacks, and removing paint. I bought another because mine is showing some wear after lots of use. I would recommend them and if my memory serves me right they’re made in USA which is nice.

I was actually hoping to use this on my high speed pneumatic grinder. But it’s way to thick to fit the arbor on the tool but it work well on my angle grinder! The Zirconia disk work great though much more life out of the disks over other brands! The disk backer pad thickness for the high speed grinder is around.062-.0935 and is made out of a flexible tough material that are the same diameter as the disk that is being used. In my case I use 41/2” diameter disk with a 7/8 arbor hole to mount on the grinder! These types of backer pads are pretty much impossible for me to find, I have been looking for a long time to find them! These thin backer pads have got to be out there somewhere because Ingersol- Rand makes a high grinder but they make no mention of the backer pad parts, go figure! You folks may want to carry these pads for sale to help customers out!
