    4-1/2" x .040 x 7/8" Cutting Disc T1 - 25 Pack

Posted by Toolmonger on Sep 5th 2020

$1.20/ disc (price for 25 pack with shipping = $29.95) can't beat that for price or performance. reccomend them for nearly every cutting application- the recessed type discs are best for close to surface cuts, flat discs like these are best for the rest!

    Cutting discs

Posted by Colin on Aug 31st 2020

Bought these after using a cheap disc from another manufacturer (not to mention names but the brand is associated with a company that is OTHER than southern). Cheap disc vs 4140 steel: worn out in less than a minute, hardly any progress on the cut. Black Hawk disc: wore to the same diameter in five minutes and the job was complete.

    Moral of the story:

Don't buy cheap rubbish, get these instead.

0.45 vs 0.40 thinner is better

Posted by Tool Monger on Jul 3rd 2020

some say that the 0.040 discs don't last very long compared to 0.045. Cutting as little metal as possible is best. A wide path cut through the work piece creates more metal & disc abrasives dust. Thin cuts are less work for the motor. I chose this Brand because of the thickness & price. Other brands are selling for upto 3x the price of these! Used some today on carbon steel 1/8" thick 96 inches of cutting length. 4 discs consumed that is about the usual rate for any other type of abrasive cutting discs I have used. will buy more of these when necessary & I highly recommend them

    Decent cutting disc

Posted by Ben on Oct 20th 2017

These disks are great for leaving as small kerf as possible, however because of their thin size they do burn up a little quicker than other cutting discs.
