This combination of specifications provides the following advantages:9" inch long recip blades are the perfect size for cutting work pieces that are 6 to 7 inches wide (Your blade length should be 2" - 3" longer than the width of the material you are cutting to prevent slipping. Additionally, your blade should not be so much longer than your material or else wobbling and vibration can occur.) . The 3/4” width allows the blade to resist bending and vibration to further enhance its ability to create straighter, faster cuts. The .050” thickness is considered “HEAVY DUTY” and thus it is perfect for aggressive cutting applications that require heavier feed pressure such as cutting through thicker dense metals.
