Introducing 3” Ceramic Quick Change Discs, the highest quality and longest lasting quick change discs by Black Hawk Abrasives to date. 3 inch (75 mm) quick change sanding discs are designed for versatility. These sanding discs can be used on flat or contoured surfaces, at odd angles or in compact spaces where a larger grinding simply could not work. 3 inch quick change sanding discs can be used to blend, sand, grind, descale, deburr, polish, level or remove stock. Black Hawk Abrasives 3 inch ceramic quick change discs are manufactured using polyester, Y-weight backing that is firm and strong. The backing is the coated in the latest in abrasive technology, closed coat, ceramic grains. Ceramic grains are at the forefront of sanding and grinding for good reason. Ceramic abrasive grains have a crystalline structure. This structure makes the grains fracture to continuously reveal sharp points throughout the life of the disc. Ceramic abrasives which are engineered for exceptional durability and cutting capability to boost productivity. These ceramic grains are resin on resin bonded to the backing providing greater grain retention, as well as heat and moisture resistance. Furthermore, the ceramic grains on these 3 inch discs come with an additional grinding aid to lubricate during use, effectively reducing heat and preventing loading of softer materials. Reducing temperature during grinding is important because it extends the life of the abrasive itself and protects sensitive work pieces such as stainless steel, cobalt alloys, and nickel alloys from becoming burnt or stained. Additionally, ceramic grains prevent “after-rust” because they are contaminant free. Finally, this ceramic quick change sanding disc is affixed with the versatile, plastic, Type R (Type III) male roll-on, roll-off attachment system comparable to (and compatible with) 3M Roloc™ quick twist-on, twist-off. These discs are meant to be used with a 3-inch backing pad that can then be fastened to any ¼” power drill or air grinding tool. Ceramic quick change discs are commonly used in auto collision repair, aerospace manufacturing and repair, marine manufacturing and repair, transportation and heavy equipment manufacturing and repair, as well as general industrial uses and metal fabrication. This innovative abrasive grain is the absolute best option for use with stainless steel, chrome, Inconel, aluminum, nickel alloys, cobalt alloys, titanium and other hard to grind materials. Ceramic grains also work great on carbon steel.
