The 3” x 1” x ¼” Mounted Flap Wheels by Black Hawk Abrasives are the perfect abrasives for light grinding, polishing, deburring, blending and flash or scale removal. The size, shape and flexibility of this flapper wheel allows for grinding and polishing in hard to reach places such as inside or outside of tubes and piping. The flaps of this abrasive consist of x-weight cloth that are attached around a straight spindle in a fan like pattern. This design allows for new resin bonded aluminum oxide grains to be exposed upon wear and thus greatly extending the life of the abrasive. These 3 inch flap wheels are commonly used with straight die grinders, angle die grinders or power drills on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as plastic, fiberglass and wood. Some common applications include grinding out imperfections, sanding wood before painting, de-scaling heat treated aluminum, removing rust, giving a satin finish to metals and sharpening tools.
