5” Ceramic Resin Fiber Discs by Black Hawk Abrasives are a time tested abrasive classic, the resin fiber disc, with a high tech, top of the line twist. These resin fiber discs are made with ceramic, the highest quality, longest lasting abrasive grain on the market today. Red ceramic grains are affixed to a vulcanized fiber backing using closed coat, resin bonding creating a resin fiber disc that is capable of outlasting aluminum oxide or zirconia resin disks by 50% – 200% . Ideal for heavy stock removal jobs or jobs on sensitive work pieces, these discs operate at a lower temperature which not only lengthens the life of the disc but also prevents burning or discoloration of the work piece. The resin bonding and abrasive grain fracturing characteristic also aid in lengthening the disc's life. The resin prevents loading while the abrasive grains fracture in such a way that is continually producing sharp edges so that the disc will cut fast throughout its useful life. The 5 inch ceramic resin fiber disc is great for heavy duty grinding and sanding but can also polish and is particularly effective on stainless steel. These discs are meant to be used on an angle grinder with a backing pad (sold separately). These discs come in 24, 36, 60, 80, or 120 grit.
